WAREHOUSE DISTRICT

The Warehouse District was once used as factories and warehouses are now being renovated into luxurious apartments and condos. Once home to thousands of European immigrants, the area has young professionals living and working in the area.   Lafayette Square, the second oldest park in New Orleans, is a great place to eat lunch, take a stroll, or attend one of the many festivals held here throughout the year.

The Warehouse District. has become a major tourist attraction. The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center contains approximately 1.1 million square feet of exhibit space, making it one of the largest and busiest in the country. The incredible and world-famous World War II Museum attracts about 700,000 visitors from around the globe.  If you’re feeling lucky, you can roll the dice at Harrah’s Casino on Canal Street. The Warehouse District has many beautiful art galleries along Julia Street as well as the world-renowned Ogden Museum of Southern Art.

You will always have something to do if you live in the Warehouse District. The neighborhood has a very cosmopolitan feel. There are workout studios, bars, restaurants, and rooftop pools just outside your door. This is the perfect neighborhood for people moving from larger metropolitan cities to adjust to the transition to the Big Easy.

What to Expect

You can expect to find old warehouses and factories that have been converted into modern luxury lofts, apartments, and condos. You will be able to find every type of restaurants just outside your front door. There are trendy bars such as Monkey Board and Ace Hotel Rooftop Bar. The Warehouse District is home to a great restaurant scene that includes restaurants such as  Restaurant August and Josephine Estelle. Most restaurants have an amazing happy hour too. You can also enjoy tanning at hotel rooftop pools, such as the NOPSI Hotel which is open to the public. You will enjoy the walkability this area provides and it’s proximity to the French Quarter and Lower Garden District.
